Girls = Cars?

"Choose wisely or you might not be able to choose again!" - Vaux.

It's commonly known that there's 3 important desired attributes when choosing a car. Ideally, the car should be cheap, reliable and fast. This is an ideal combination but of course, there's always a catch. You can only get 2 maximum attributes out of it. You will probably encounter 3 types of car to considers from.

1. Cheap and Reliable but not Fast.

2. Cheap and Fast but not Reliable.

3. Fast and Reliable but certainly not Cheap.

Ironically, girls also have 3 important attributes where you can only choose maximum 2. This attributes would be Nice, Smart and Hot. Again, you'll probably going to find 3 types of girl along the way.

1. Nice and Smart. If you're looking for a serious relationship, this is the type you might go for because they'll treats you good, have a good judgment and you could have a serious intellectual conversations with them since they know how to keep the conversation going. Seriously, they are the solid type since they have a nice personality, know how to treats people and fun to talk with. These are the 2 extremely important attributes if you're looking for a serious relationship.

2. Nice and Hot. If you encounter this type of girls, you might fall for her. This type is not really suitable if you're looking for a serious relationship compared to the first one but at the beginning of that relationship, she rocks your world. I must say this, beware what the future holds for you. Eventually, you will stumbled upon relationship problem that might jeopardize the relationship itself. She might not have a good sense of judgment nor the abilities to work it out with you and it will lead to the end of that relationship.

3. Smart and Hot. Okay, you might want to avoid this type of girl if you're looking for a serious relationship. High maintenance and usually, things were just given to them since they're hot. If not, they can get what they want themselves since they're smart. Since they're like that, they might develop annoying personality. They might not get along with your friends as well.

Of course, all above doesn't applied to you if you just wanted to play around and don't want to settle down first. I won't say what I've wrote down is an absolute truth as well so don't be in despair guys, since girls with all 3 attributes do exist and when you do find that special girl, don't let go of her hand and treats her right. You don't know if you will ever encounter such girl ever again.

To wrap this up, this is just my point of view. It's up to you to bank on my words or just throws it down the drain. Finally, if there's a girl reading this, please don't hate me for this. I apologize to you if you think what I wrote is offensive to girls.

Do You Remember?

"No matter how old we are, there's a kid deep inside our own heart" - Vaux

Recently, I watched something that makes me remember my sweet childhood memories. Those days were fun, playing hard all days long and couldn't care any lesser with life problems.

Back then, playing games refers to an actual physical activities. I've played lot of games in the past such as tag, spinning tops, marbles, baling selipar, konda-kondi, lawan pemadam and lot more that I can't remember the names.

Then, comes Dash Yankuro's racing cars that runs using small magnetic motors. Tamiya is expensive so I bought the cheap RM 7 Audi brand instead. I still remember the time when my friend and I tried to make the car runs faster by tweaking the engine - adding more wires and put extra magnets inside it but the truth is, we don't even know what we're doing. It's a miracle the car still works after all that so called 'upgrades'.

We don't have cool handphones like kids nowdays but there's Tamagochi and the famous 1st generation Digimon device. It's a must have item for kids that time. Well, at first I do raise my digital pet carefully but there's a time when I just slide the plastic strip that can reset the device repeatedly, press the 3 buttons randomly and taaadaaah - a new fully grown up digimon appears.

TV shows such as Gaban, Showa era Kamen Riders, Cybercops or even cartoons like Doraemon, Dragon Ball, Voltron, Captain Planet are a must watch even if I had to secretly skip my afternoon Sekolah Agama session and watch it at my friend's house.

I know that my childhood and yours might not be the same but if you're born in the 80s, this is roughly what you went through for your childhood.

Now, kids prefer to just stay at home watching TV or goes to Cyber Cafe playing games but not all of them are like that. I personally never see kids playing games like I used to back when I was a kid myself. Maybe, the new technology age changes the kid's preference and the old games only alive in our memories.

This Is War !!

"I'm hoping that the manga publisher team won't hunt down every online manga sites and shut them down as well or else, I won't be able to read my mangas anymore!" - Vaux

Yes, I've said that on my last blog entry. Looks like I'm right, again. The 36 publishers in Japan's Digital Comic Association and several American publishers are forming a coalition to combat the rampant and growing problem of scanlations - illicit digital copies of manga either translated by fans or scanned directly from legitimate English releases.

If that's not enough, the coalition reportedly threatening legal action against 30 scanlation sites just to make their point crystal clear. Few of the scanlation sites has been taken down, willingly or not.

My favorite site, One Manga willingly removes all their series content but not all sites are doing so, thus comes the legal action. Few sites such as Mangatoshokan already removes their licensed series just to be on the safe spot, for now. Nagareboshi that serves mainly shoujo manga already raise their white flag.

The coalition asserts that scanlation aggregator sites now host thousands of pirated titles, earning ad revenue and/or membership dues at creators' expense while simultaneously undermining foreign licensing opportunities and unlawfully cannibalizing legitimate sales.

Sure, we can just obey and start buying legitimate manga release but how many of us are actually willing to do so? As I always practice - why pay if you can get it for free? There'll always be a hardcore who'll find a way around, but the appeal of these aggregations sites isn't just that they are free, it's also that they are easy. The question is, will this just be aimed at the aggregators or will they also try and cut off some of the more popular scanlations at the source?

......

It was a great run and it was fun while it last. Like those cliche' movie lines - "You can run but you can't hide".

They can't stop the internet, but they're welcome to try!

RIP, One Manga !

There is an end to everything, to good things as well.

" It pains me to announce that this is the last week of manga reading on One Manga (!!). Manga publisher have recently changed their stance on manga scanlations and made it clear that they no longer approve of it. We have decided to abide by their wishes, and remove all manga content (regardless of licensing status) from the site. The remaval of content will happen gradually (so you can at least finish some of the outstanding reading you have), but we expect all content to be gone by early next week (RIP OM July 2010).

So what next? We're not really sure at this point, but we have some idea we would like to try out. Until then, the One Manga forums will remain active and we encourage all of you to continue using them. OMF has developed into a great community and it will be a shame to see that disappear.

You can also show us some love in this moment of sadness by 'liking' our brand new Facebook page. It would be nice to see just how many of you came to enjoy out 'better than peanut and butter and jelly' invention.

Regardless of whether you stay with us or not, on behalf of the One Manga team, I would like to thank you all for your unwavering support over the years. Through the ups and downs you have stuck with us, and that is what kept us going.

As a certain Porky was fond of saying ... That's all folks!

Time for me to go lay down and let this all sink in.
" - Zabi.

Today marks a sad history on online manga reading. I'm shocked, stunned or what ever suitable reaction humans could possibly had when I saw the news this morning. I simply can't accept the fact that One Manga will be taken down.

I've been visiting One Manga almost everyday since July 2007, even when the manga gallery only consist not more than 15 series at that time. For me, One Manga is the best online manga website there is to offer since its easy to navigates, fast image loading and frequent updates on high quality manga/manhwa/manhua. The site clearly abiding to the licensed series rules and this recent changes of stance of manga publisher regarding manga scanlations has forced them to take down the site.

Sure, there still tons of similar online manga website but none of them are as good as One Manga. Yes, clearly Manga Stream is the fastest site on updates and even image loading but that site only caters for few famous series such as Naruto, Bleach and One Piece. They also didn't archives the whole chapter of that series, only the 10 latest updates of it.

Well, beggars can't be choosers. Looks like Manga Stream, Mangatoshokan and MangaFox will do, for now. I'm hoping that the manga publisher team won't hunt down every online manga sites and shut them down as well or else, I won't be able to read my mangas anymore.

......

Sad sad day indeed.

1 Malaysia, seriously?

"We must all hang together or assuredly we shall all hang separately" - Benjamin Franklin.

What is actually the concept of 1 Malaysia? From my point of views, it's a slogan of unity for all Malaysian's races in many aspects - giving birth to a stronger nation. But, does this concept actually working? If you asked me, I will scratch my head and says "Seriously? I have no idea at all".

With all the racist issues out there, in real life or virtually (We can see lot of racism happening around in DoTA); how will this slogan be able to achieves its purpose?

I do have a multi races friends and it's fun to hang around with them. Sadly enough I knew a few Malay Nazi that always asking me around, questioning me the reason why do I hang out with other races? I mean, come on ... what with the silly question? They're my friends and do I need any other reason to do so?

Apparently, this scenario doesn't just applied to Malays, few of my Chinese friend were asked the same question by their Chinese Nazi acquaintances. I don't really know much about my fellow Indian friends but I'm pretty sure it happened to them as well.

Sometime it really makes me wonder, why all this racism still happening after over half a decade Malaysia achieves it's independence? Is it whats makes us different are our skin tones or maybe the shapes of our eyes? We do speak the same language, even thou I can't speak in Mandarin nor Cantonese and not even Tamil but I do understand a few words out of it - mostly composed out of strings of swearing but hey; I know a bit bout your languages too!

Surely, not all Malaysians have a firm grips of 1 Malaysia but that doesn't mean we can't hang out, drinks teh tarik at mamak stall, eat nasi lemak or even char kuew teow together, right?

Yes, I do agree with the fact that deep inside our heart there still be a feeling that we'll put our race in front of others yet again in my case, it is not really in a major ways.

Now, comes the big question - How do we put an end to all of these racism issues? Mingles around, get to know each others better; in a good ways. In the near future, I do hope there will be more multiracial babies are borned so that racism would not be an issue anymore. You can't be racist towards a multiracial person, dude ... that would be totally wrong.

.......

I need to find myself a hot Chinese girlfriend, for the sakes of unity of course. 1 Malaysia, we can do it!

Internet Drama - Gotta Loves Em' All !

"Internet Dramas - It beats Twilight saga FFS!" - Vaux.

Internet drama has been around as long as ... Internet itself. Some are interesting, some aren't as much fun to follows - like all the TV dramas out there.

After years using the Internet, joining various forum and seen a lot of drama there is to offer; I've develop my own 6th sense to detect dramas even before they started. Usually, just sit aside watching how it turn out to be while eating popcorn and if things got interesting, I might jump in to join the fun.

There's few indicators on how an Internet dramas would start off with :

1. A forum moderator misleading announcement set the fire burning thus, comes the Internet Trolls adding the fuel to the flaming hot threads. Things got worst when one of the troll gets the big banhammer and the dramas continues!

2. Forum management decided to just ignores the complain from the forumer regarding the game they hosted by simply locking down the threads without an explanations and bans the one cites the loud criticism about them.

3. Forum spammers meets Trolls. This not as epic as The Clash of The Titans but it still can be epic on its own. Some can get really ugly yet some can be genuinely hilarious.

4. Forum's White Knight meets the Trolls/Skeptic can lead to a walls of text type of argument where usually the argument will ended up on square 1.

.......

There's a lot more indicators out there but this is mostly the main reason why Internet dramas start. So folks, keeps your eyes open for this indicators and you might found yourself in the middle of it.

Stay tunes for the next updates and as usual, drinks on me!
