RIP, One Manga !

There is an end to everything, to good things as well.

" It pains me to announce that this is the last week of manga reading on One Manga (!!). Manga publisher have recently changed their stance on manga scanlations and made it clear that they no longer approve of it. We have decided to abide by their wishes, and remove all manga content (regardless of licensing status) from the site. The remaval of content will happen gradually (so you can at least finish some of the outstanding reading you have), but we expect all content to be gone by early next week (RIP OM July 2010).

So what next? We're not really sure at this point, but we have some idea we would like to try out. Until then, the One Manga forums will remain active and we encourage all of you to continue using them. OMF has developed into a great community and it will be a shame to see that disappear.

You can also show us some love in this moment of sadness by 'liking' our brand new Facebook page. It would be nice to see just how many of you came to enjoy out 'better than peanut and butter and jelly' invention.

Regardless of whether you stay with us or not, on behalf of the One Manga team, I would like to thank you all for your unwavering support over the years. Through the ups and downs you have stuck with us, and that is what kept us going.

As a certain Porky was fond of saying ... That's all folks!

Time for me to go lay down and let this all sink in.
" - Zabi.

Today marks a sad history on online manga reading. I'm shocked, stunned or what ever suitable reaction humans could possibly had when I saw the news this morning. I simply can't accept the fact that One Manga will be taken down.

I've been visiting One Manga almost everyday since July 2007, even when the manga gallery only consist not more than 15 series at that time. For me, One Manga is the best online manga website there is to offer since its easy to navigates, fast image loading and frequent updates on high quality manga/manhwa/manhua. The site clearly abiding to the licensed series rules and this recent changes of stance of manga publisher regarding manga scanlations has forced them to take down the site.

Sure, there still tons of similar online manga website but none of them are as good as One Manga. Yes, clearly Manga Stream is the fastest site on updates and even image loading but that site only caters for few famous series such as Naruto, Bleach and One Piece. They also didn't archives the whole chapter of that series, only the 10 latest updates of it.

Well, beggars can't be choosers. Looks like Manga Stream, Mangatoshokan and MangaFox will do, for now. I'm hoping that the manga publisher team won't hunt down every online manga sites and shut them down as well or else, I won't be able to read my mangas anymore.

......

Sad sad day indeed.

1 Malaysia, seriously?

"We must all hang together or assuredly we shall all hang separately" - Benjamin Franklin.

What is actually the concept of 1 Malaysia? From my point of views, it's a slogan of unity for all Malaysian's races in many aspects - giving birth to a stronger nation. But, does this concept actually working? If you asked me, I will scratch my head and says "Seriously? I have no idea at all".

With all the racist issues out there, in real life or virtually (We can see lot of racism happening around in DoTA); how will this slogan be able to achieves its purpose?

I do have a multi races friends and it's fun to hang around with them. Sadly enough I knew a few Malay Nazi that always asking me around, questioning me the reason why do I hang out with other races? I mean, come on ... what with the silly question? They're my friends and do I need any other reason to do so?

Apparently, this scenario doesn't just applied to Malays, few of my Chinese friend were asked the same question by their Chinese Nazi acquaintances. I don't really know much about my fellow Indian friends but I'm pretty sure it happened to them as well.

Sometime it really makes me wonder, why all this racism still happening after over half a decade Malaysia achieves it's independence? Is it whats makes us different are our skin tones or maybe the shapes of our eyes? We do speak the same language, even thou I can't speak in Mandarin nor Cantonese and not even Tamil but I do understand a few words out of it - mostly composed out of strings of swearing but hey; I know a bit bout your languages too!

Surely, not all Malaysians have a firm grips of 1 Malaysia but that doesn't mean we can't hang out, drinks teh tarik at mamak stall, eat nasi lemak or even char kuew teow together, right?

Yes, I do agree with the fact that deep inside our heart there still be a feeling that we'll put our race in front of others yet again in my case, it is not really in a major ways.

Now, comes the big question - How do we put an end to all of these racism issues? Mingles around, get to know each others better; in a good ways. In the near future, I do hope there will be more multiracial babies are borned so that racism would not be an issue anymore. You can't be racist towards a multiracial person, dude ... that would be totally wrong.

.......

I need to find myself a hot Chinese girlfriend, for the sakes of unity of course. 1 Malaysia, we can do it!

Internet Drama - Gotta Loves Em' All !

"Internet Dramas - It beats Twilight saga FFS!" - Vaux.

Internet drama has been around as long as ... Internet itself. Some are interesting, some aren't as much fun to follows - like all the TV dramas out there.

After years using the Internet, joining various forum and seen a lot of drama there is to offer; I've develop my own 6th sense to detect dramas even before they started. Usually, just sit aside watching how it turn out to be while eating popcorn and if things got interesting, I might jump in to join the fun.

There's few indicators on how an Internet dramas would start off with :

1. A forum moderator misleading announcement set the fire burning thus, comes the Internet Trolls adding the fuel to the flaming hot threads. Things got worst when one of the troll gets the big banhammer and the dramas continues!

2. Forum management decided to just ignores the complain from the forumer regarding the game they hosted by simply locking down the threads without an explanations and bans the one cites the loud criticism about them.

3. Forum spammers meets Trolls. This not as epic as The Clash of The Titans but it still can be epic on its own. Some can get really ugly yet some can be genuinely hilarious.

4. Forum's White Knight meets the Trolls/Skeptic can lead to a walls of text type of argument where usually the argument will ended up on square 1.

.......

There's a lot more indicators out there but this is mostly the main reason why Internet dramas start. So folks, keeps your eyes open for this indicators and you might found yourself in the middle of it.

Stay tunes for the next updates and as usual, drinks on me!
